I have an asymmetrical face. Is it possible to get laser liposuction on one of my cheeks? (photos)

I have always been really insecure with the shape of my face, I don't like to take photos "face forward pics". I wanted to know if it's possible to get laser liposuction on one of my cheeks. I have noticed that the larger side of my face has more skin or fat. I'm in the process of getting braces again too, I know that plays a huge role in my crooked face(I've had previous treatment with braces plus jaw surgery,. I prefer not to have major surgery again. what will give me the best results?

Hi, Just so you have peace of mind, the way the body is made, one side is always slightly different than the other.  I would recommend removing facial volume, instead consider injecting the small cheek to enlarge it.  Volume is critical in beauty and in preservation of appearance as you grow older.  I wouldn't recommend facial laser liposuction for this.  Laser liposuction is better for jowls and necks.  Best Wishes!!

We are asymmetrical.Our faces and bodies are all made asymmetrically.Our heart is on the left side.We have three lung lobes on the right side and only two on the left.The left breast for most women sits higher than the right.Most people's left eye socket sits higher than the right; hence, their eyebrow is higher on the left than on the right.If you were to take a computer image and split someone's face in half and then recreate as a face made out of two left sides and two right sides, you will notice two things. First, the two images look strikingly different.The second thing you may notice is both faces look very strange.That is because you have never seen a symmetrical face.They do not exist and look very strange.The more years I practice plastic surgery, the less motivated I become treating asymmetry.Almost universally, when treating natural asymmetry, a new asymmetry is created.There are, of course, times when asymmetry causes severe distortion and needs to be addressed.Facial asymmetry is almost always due to skeletal asymmetry.I do not recommend that you get treatment for facial asymmetry.The chance of you being dissatisfied is much too high.You have an attractive face and need to learn to accept that your look is normal and appropriate.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
