Is a type of lipo/treatment for forearm fat?? I have a lot of fat in my elbow area and I fear my arms will look disproportionate if i just get my upper arm done. I have read it is a risky area because most people don’t have much fat there but I feel like I have enough to do something about. Also, if there is nothing I can do to decrease the size of my forearms, would lipo still look good on my upper arm/back with the size my forearms are now?
Answer: Liposuction You do not have enough fat on your forearms for liposuction. If the upper arms are done, you will still look normal.

Answer: Necessary Determinations Hello; the forearm, is generally, not an area; where Liposuction is performed. Because, it is not very lubricated and especially, the nerves going to the hand in the elbow; become superficial. It is an area that; has high potential harm; as well as benefits. As far as I can see from photos, you do not have any serious forearm fat. Arm Liposuction; it doesn't make your forearm look bigger.

Answer: Yes Hi there, In short, yes you can have that area treated by liposuction. It would just be treated with a smaller cannula to prevent any type of contour deformities. The amount of fat removed will be small, however it can be done. I would however discuss this with your surgeon and it may increase the price of your procedure, which might not be worth it for the added cost. If you forgo the forearm lipo, I dont believe you will be out of balance. Be sure to discuss this with your surgeon at pre-op. All the best

Answer: How to approach, arm liposuction My technique for doing arm, and Liposuction has evolved over many years. I know treat most patients by doing circumferential liposuction of their arm and generally always blending into the forearm. The amount of fat removed from the form depends on each unique person’s fat distribution. And very chubby arms, I sometimes do liposuction all the way down to the wrist. Doing so can cause a fair amount of swelling after surgery. This is all discussed during consultations before surgery. Arm Liposuction is technically more challenging than other areas and the number of plastic surgeons who have mastered doing this type of work is pretty small. Arms is one of the more common areas to be left disfigured with contour irregularities That are permanent and very difficult to correct once the proceed is done. The procedure can deliver spectacular high patient satisfaction results, but it is completely dependent on provider selection. Finding the right plastic surgeon for your needs is not at all easy or straightforward. What you were asking for can be accomplished, but finding someone who can do the job correctly is going to be an uphill battle. From my experience, most plastic surgeons do not do circumferential liposuction, and this will inherently limit results in my opinion. Find the right provider I suggest patients start the process by making a list of local plastic surgeons or Liposuction clinics, who seem to have extensive experience doing liposuction or preferably focus on this procedure exclusively. if you consult with a clinic it is important that you vet providers and are allowed to see the before and after pictures of work done by the actual surgeon who is going to do your procedure not stock pictures used to sell surgery. I generally tell people to avoid virtual consultations whenever possible. You can see some before and after pictures of arm liposuction under my profile to get an idea. Be more selective regarding provider selection than you may think necessary. Mats Hagstrom MD
