It is best not to have any metal, like piercings, on your body during a BBL. I recommend using a temporary plastic piece, though it is best to talk to your plastic surgeon and follow his/her advice.
I think that it is OK to put a plastic retainer in the piercing . It should be fine during the procedure as long as there is not metal. Best to always check with your surgeon.
Body piercings are removed to try to prevent electrical burns during surgery. A temporary plastic only spacer would work but to be absolutely safe, removing it and replacing after surgery is the best choice. As long as the incision is not near the piercing it would probably be safe to replace your piercing postop. Best wishes on your recovery.
