I have a surgery booked for breast implants. My doctor decided on 540cc implants for me. I'm 5'4, 138 pounds, and currently a small C cup. My doctor took measurements at the consultation and said I have a large frame so I would need large implants to fill me out. I'm aiming for a DD but wouldn't mind if I ended up slightly larger.I'm just looking for second opinions since I don't want to regret the implant size after it's done. Attached is a picture of my body so you can see my frame size.
Answer: Might be too big These are always tough decisions but two things seem apparent. One is, a 540cc implant is pretty big on any 5' 4" 138 pound woman. It's just a pretty good size implant. And second from the picture you sent (which doesn't show a lot but it shows something!) it looks like you have quite a bit of your own breast tissue already. Based on those two cursory pieces of information I would say those implants will get you well beyond a DD... especially Victoria secret !!! That's just my best guess…

Answer: Implant Size It is very difficult without assessing you in person to know if the implant size you mentioned will be a good fit for you. Keep in mind that implant size selection not only depends on your personal preference, but it also depends on your unique measurements. Staying within these measurements will help ensure a great result, while also minimizing potential complications. There are various types of implants that can help you attain the look you are going for. A thorough consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon will allow you to communicate what your desired result is and will inform you as to what is possible to achieve your goals. We have a device called the Vectra 3D imaging system that shows you what you will look like with any implant. Our patients are very happy with the choice of implant they make when using this system. Answer: Breast augmentation, 540cc Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality. This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Not Enough Information Dear caitlynl, Unfortunately your photo does not provide enough information to provide you with a good answer. Your best bet is to discuss your concerns with your surgeon and try on sizers (our preferred method) or use an imaging system (not as accurate in my opinion). Good luck. Dr. Gervais.

Answer: Breast Augmentation - Size Selection Thank you for your question. "Tissue based planning" relies on your chest and breast measurements and is the safest way to ensure good long term results. Your surgeon should determine what size and projection are necessary to give you your desired result based on your body's measurements. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic breast surgery. Hope this helps and good luck with your surgery.
