I had vbeam 1 week ago for capillaries and diffuse redness around my nose and mouth. All the capillaries are gone, but the overall redness did not significantly improve. I don't have rosacea so the redness appears to be a combination of the capillaries, chronic irritation/thin skin, and previous acne. Therefore, my question is whether a second vbeam is likely to improve the redness? Or help keep the broken capillaries away? Else, I may just stick to the 1 treatment. Any alternatives?
Answer: Hidef Treatment of Red Scars, Post-Inflammatory Erythema, and Skin Blushing Our protocol for hyper-erythematous redness uses a combination of lasers and Nanofractional RF to help reduce localized and perfuse hypervascularity in the skin. We begin with an evaluation of the redness and evaluate the cause of the hypervascularity. Treatments with Limelight IPL, Vbeam Perfecta, and Nanofractional RF are then used to reduce the blood vessels and telangiectasia within the skin. Patients benefit from post-treatment application of Elevase Moisture Booster with ceramides. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Depends on the energy used Some lesions require a lot of energy to go away. The problem is that the higher the energy the high the chances of bruising or scarring. Therefore, you want to discuss your risk tolerance with the doctor! Pulsed dye laser treatment is so safe that it has been used successfully for the treatment of port wine stains in infants and young children. The Vbeam skin laser can also be used to treat rosacea, stretch marks, warts and keloids, or even tiny spider veins on the legs or face. After applying numbing cream, the laser light is applied to the patient’s skin. Vbeam skin laser treatment is relatively painless and does not require a long healing time. The most common reaction patients experience include just a few hours of mild redness. Treatment with the Vbeam may consist of multiple treatments, depending upon the condition and needs of the patient’s body. For facial veins, one treatment may be sufficient for clearance (that said, additional treatments are not uncommon). These treatments occur on an average of every 4 weeks depending on the area and type of treatment.

Answer: Vbeam for redness Whether or not your redness resolves or improves is dependent on the settings on the Vbeam. More specifically, this is dependent on both the "pulse duration" and "fluence". In order to improve redness when spider veins are not present, a shorter pulse duration is needed in order to destroy smaller vessels that aren't visible to your eye. A word of warning, when shorter pulse durations are used, more bruising can take place.

Answer: Multiple Vbeam Treatments As with many laser treatments, one treatment is not sufficient to see the desired results. Vbeam is no different and should take at least 2-3 treatments before noticing a drastic improvement in capillaries and redness. Vbeam also needs to be repeated thereafter every few months for maintenance. I would not give up on it after one treatment but rather try at least one more and see if you are not noticing improvement.
