I think that most plastic surgeons would recommend weight loss to reduce the rate of complications. I would search for the surgeon who you feel is most likely to give youthe best results. Look at reviews and before and after pictures on thatsurgeon's website. Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Your weight per se is not a contraindication to surgery. Heavier patients do have higher complication rates.
Thank you for the question. Always best to achieve long-term stable weight prior to proceeding with mommy makeover surgery. Doing so, will increase the safety of the operation, will likely improve the outcome of the operation, and will decrease chances that additional surgery will become necessary subsequently. In my practice, I do not ask patients to achieve a specific weight prior to proceeding with surgery. I simply ask patients to achieve a long-term stable weight where he/she feels comfortable and does not expect significant fluctuation postoperatively. Generally speaking, the “ideal” patient for mommy makeover surgery is one who has completed pregnancies, is psycho socially/emotionally/financially stable, has an excellent social support system surrounding him/her, is capable of arranging enough recovery time, does not smoke and who has reached a long-term stable weight. Best wishes.
I think it's great that you want to look and feel better. I agree with some of the others that the BMI is a concern. I recommend further weight loss and an in person consult follow the weight loss. This would give you a better assessment. It would be irresponsible to promise you any kind of results until the in person consult was done. Good luck!
Yes, having a high BMI would be a concern. The most important consideration is your safety. Your risk of complications, some potentially fatal, would be higher than someone with a BMI under 30. The aesthetic results at your present weight would also be limited.Weight loss can lead to loose skin, which a mommy makeover can address. The key to long standing success is to be at a stable weight. Make sure your lifestyle is such that you don't gain the weight back after if you do have surgery or you will likely be unhappy. If you can get your weight as low as possible the risks of healing from a tummy tuck will go down significantly. In my practice in the San Francisco Bay Area I have come to the conclusion that the happiest patients are those that have realistic expectation on what a procedure will and won’t do for them. Good luck! Dean Vistnes.
Combined operations in general have a higher #complication rate and its difficult to determine what the possible complication rate can be. That being said, some doctors are not always in agreement to #combine #gynecology and #cosmetic procedures together in one surgery time. Also, timing can b...
The scabs will fall off eventually, so if they pulled off with the tape, they were probably ready to be removed. This shouldn't really affect your outcome in any way.
Green tea extract should really not be an issue, but please check with your surgeon to see what his recommendation is. Best wishes for your surgery!
