My tape is pulling off scabs. Is this going to stop me getting the best results for my scars?

I had a breast lift augmentation and tummy tuck 2 weeks ago.My wounds were sealed with glue so I had no drains or dressings and I'm really pleased so far.For the last week I have had tape on my scars which I removed today.Everything looks good but when I took the tape off it pulled off some scabs.There's no weeping but ripping off scabs can't be good for healing.Is this going to stop me getting the best results?

The scabs will fall off eventually, so if they pulled off with the tape, they were probably ready to be removed.  This shouldn't really affect your outcome in any way.

Thank you for your question. Taping the scars is normally an appropriate method to reduce tension and help the healing. However occasionally the tape may traumatise the skin is changed too often or if there is some degree of inflammation on the scar itself. I would advice to leave it off for a few days and ask your surgeon to assess the situation.Best of luckAndrea Marando

Relative to the final scar you have nothing to worry about. You should be discussing management of your incision with your surgeon.
