Why did dermaplaning and a peel make my pores bigger and what can I do to bring my skin back to normal?

I have acne prone skin and recently had dermaplaning and an alphahydroxy peel at a resort spa. Instead of reducing my poor size and improving my acne, it made it worse. My pores look huge and I'm so shiny even after 5 days. I'm 42 and tend to get acne in my T zone. What can I use to calm my skin. She said I could go back to using my triacneal (retinal product) 3 days later. I think that made it worse. Such a bummer. $300 down the tube!

There is no treatment that reliably increases or decreases pore size, despite frequent claims to the contrary.  The inflammation from the minor procedures you have had will settle and your condition should improve soon. Probably best to avoid exfoliating agents during this process.

Best to stop all skin products for at least 10 days to allow your skin to recover. Or seek in person with a dermatologist expert in skin peels.
