Pain from my Liposuction incision 8 Months post op. What could this be?

I had liposuction way back in September. I have been trying to run lately but my hip really hurts. The pain is sharp. Until recently, I thought it was muscular but realized the pain is in the same area as the entry point for my liposuction. Is this scar tissue? Do I need it checked? Is there anything I can do at home to fix this? Thanks for any suggestions.

By now you should be pain free after liposuction. I wonder if liposuction was assisted by a laser or ultrasound as this sometimes leads to chronic pain conditions.

It is unusual to have disabling pain at the sites of liposuction, even right after surgery. The incisions are small and usually heal very quickly. The best course of action is to be seen by your plastic surgeon. Perhaps the scar has entrapped a nerve, or the pain may be unrelated to the surgery, but a thorough history and physical examination should go a long way toward sorting this out.

Pain at the site of liposuction is unusual. It is possible that a significant cutaneous nerve could underlie your injection site and that it could be involved and scar tissue. I would recommend you see your surgeon who performed the surgery for a detailed examination. This should give you the answers that you seek. Best wishes!
