QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Will an internal bra help my breast revision? Cost? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
  • Sarah, I am reminded of the old adage the enemy of good is perfection. I donut mastopexy and internal bra will require external scars some of the cost may be related to the fact that you have an excellent result out and you are risking something that may not be as promising terms of a result. I would think this over a great deal before going ahead and maybe seek additional input. Best wishes!

I want to replace my natrelle 68hp. What would you suggest for me to gain upper pole fullness? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
  • I would recommend you use a high-profile style 20 or style 45 implant. I would also recommend you consider a breast lift depending on the distance from your sternal notch to your nipple. It is advisable that you seek a plastic surgeon who is experienced in all types of breast surgery. Best wishes!

How come when I look at post op pics of Liposuction from 1 week to 6 weeks, no one has bruising? I am severely bruised...

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
  • Bruising can be caused by the type of Liposuction that is used. Also the amount of tumescent solution can play a role.how much bruising a patient may experience can also be related to any medications either over the counter or products such as aspirin and anti-inflammatories.

I have what I believe to be a hanging columella. I'd like to get this fixed but not sure if it's possible. (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
  • There are several treatment options for an overhanging columella. The question is do you have any other abnormalities that you were not happy with with regard to the appearance of your nose. If we are dealing with only an overhanging columella you can treat this with septal cartilage grafts placed in the pocket below the upper lateral cartilages between them and the lower lateral's. You can also treat this with removal of some of the membranous septum and the caudal edge of the cartilaginous septum area please consult a board-certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in rhinoplasty. Best wishes!

I had a bad nose infection. Should I take the silicone out immediately or wait a few days to let the swelling go down? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
  • Dear Ming Liang, based on the photograph you show me and your history I would concur with your surgeons recommendation to remove the implant. If you leave it in I believe you may risk skin loss and for the complications and more deformity. At the very least you should be in the hospital on IV antibiotics. Please contact your plastic surgeon and arrange for this to be removed. Best wishes!

Is it normal to look the same or worse after a mini tummy tuck and liposuction?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
  • Rachel, I'm sorry to hear of your bad experience. It is possible to convert your mini tummy tuck to a full tummy tuck if the umbilicus is not been detached. I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon who has a great deal of experience with Tummy Tucks and their variations. Best wishes!

Can excess skin/loose above belly button be pulled up to be tightned after a mini Abdominalplasty with full muscle repair?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
  • It's a little difficult to tell from your photographs but personally I would suggest taking more skin out your lower abdomen and bring your belly button down three or 4 cm and suturing it to the muscle at that point. This may give enough tightening in your upper abdomen to avoid the crease. Best wishes!

After Lifestyle Facelift I have the sagging, numbness, stinging, itching and burning. What can I do about this? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
  • Based on the limited photographs it appears that you must have had significant excess skin and fatty tissue in the area beneath your jawline. I don't believe that you would've been a candidate for a "lifestyle lift". You would've benefited more by the traditional full facelift with the detailed neck left. I would recommend you seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon who is familiar with more techniques of how to perform facelifts. Best wishes!

How can I alleviate soreness of saline breast implants under the muscle?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
  • Is unusual to have pain for three months following breast augmentation. It sounds like your breast implants could be riding high or that you may have a capsular contracture. It is difficult to recommend treatment without examining you. Or seeing more in the way of photographs however I would suggest you contact your plastic surgeon and discuss this with him directly. Best wishes!

40 Year Old Guy - Saint Louis, MO

I'm a 40 year-old man and a doctor (PhD) and have had two surgeries covering three areas. I had Dr. Hart do liposuction of my neck in Spring 2011 to correct some fullness there. I'm not overweight, but my neck has sloped from my chin to my adam's apple my entire life. I later had Dr. Hart do BodyTite liposuction of my abdomen and flanks in Spring 2012. As I've aged, I've found my weight remains the same, but seems to want to deposit itself in the least helpful places :-) For both surgeries, the results far exceeded expectations. My torso is a perfect V-shape, and my chin meets my neck at a good angle. I had previously gotten a quote from a different surgeon on the neck procedure, but then got a second opinion from Dr. Hart. Dr. Hart's recommended path of treatment was less aggressive, left only the tiniest little scar behind my chin and cost less than half the amount of the first surgeon. While he was in there, Dr. Hart removed a large pocket of dense, hard fat under the muscle and tightened up my platysma muscle as well. The Bodytite of my abdomen and flanks removed 1400cc of fat and left me with the profile of a 20 year-old. Dr. Hart warned me that the abdomen "will never be smooth" after lipo -- which is more honest than most surgeons. Afterward, there was a small shallow area, but he fixed that with a minor corrective procedure. I had both procedures fully awake. There was no pain with the neck, and only slight and momentary burning sensation with the abdomen/flanks. I've had a couple tattoos, and this was a walk in the park in comparison. There was some swelling after both surgeries, which was expected. It meant that no one noticed a sudden change in my profile. After three weeks, it didn't look so great, but after three months, the results were amazing. After my first surgery, I was happy to go back to Dr. Hart. The neck was $3000 and the abdomen and flanks were around $6500.

Implant/Explant/Implant - St. Louis

I was a 28AA at age 30...so I opted for implants. Went 225's to be a 34B, silicone, under the muscle. I have had them for 22 yrs. The first month I was depressed, I was so sad tht I did it. But once I was healed. I was SO happy. I didnt go huge because I just wanted to look proportioned. I did, and have been happy ever since. Last month I had my yearly mammogram and the results showed a ruptured implant. The report went on to say that the implant has clearly be ruptured since 2006. I dont know why someone didnt catch it sooner but I have to say, I havent suffered any reactions or side effects one way or the other with the leakage of the silicone. I went back the same dr that performed my augmentation. He is going to explant, clean up and put in 285's. I am scheduled for surgery on 12/13/10.
