The value of compression with regards to Bodytite is tied more closely to the liposuction component than the skin tightening component. BodyTite without liposuction lessens the importance of compression. That being said, in my practice, BodyTite patients will wear a compressive garment for approximately 2 weeks (without lipo > longer with). It helps minimize swelling as well as add a measure of comfort post operatively. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
Thank you for the detailed question. Each plastic surgeon has his own post operation instructions, in my practice we do require that BodyTite patients wear a compression garment for up to 2 months after surgery. Not only can it help optimize results, it also helps with pain and swelling. I recommend discussing the matter with your plastic surgeon and asking why he or she does not think a garment is necessary. We offer FaceTime/Skype consultations for prospective patients who are far away from my office. For more information, please visit my website.
Dear Leslie,Thank you for this question since there are great number of approaches. To answer the question regarding "faster results" I do not believe compression garments play a role in achieving results in a shorter time period. I believe they do provide a degree of patient comfort and support for the treated area. I recommend some compression for at least two weeks. I provide a garment for my patients but there are times patients simply purchase retail compression such as Spanks. And in your case that would probably be an option to consider. Good luck.
Bodytite patients will require compression to optimize the results. The most important aspect of the treatment is to maximize the skin tightening from Bodytite.
Thank you for your question. In our practice, we recommend that our patients wear a compressive sleeve garment for two weeks after treatment of the arms with Bodytite. We find that compression helps reduce the postoperative swelling, seroma formation and overall patient discomfort during the initial healing phase. We custom fit our patients with garments to ensure that they are not too tight or too loose. It is possible that there is a specific reason why your plastic surgeon does not want you in compression after your treatment. Best of luck with your recovery!
Thank you for your question. It is my practice to put all BodyTite patients into a garment for two weeks following their procedure. The garment serves three purposes. First to get the skin to re-adhere to the skin if there was any degree of separation from the procedure. Second to minimize the amount of swelling you might otherwise experience. Finally, for comfort. If there was no liposuction performed with your BodyTite procedure, the necessity of the garment is reduced but it is still my practice to have my patients wear it. I doubt your PS would have an objection to you wearing a compression garment and if you are concerned you could ask him/her.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
Compression garments after BodyTite are required for all my patients and I usually provide them at my expense. As you know, BodyTite combines thermal contraction and liposuction, and both require eradication of swelling fluids for a full effect. My patients wear the garments for 72 hours nonstop, then on-and-off for 3 weeks, at a minimum. I've noticed that patients who wear the garment more than they are supposed to have better results earlier. Ask your PS, though, he or she may have a reason for you not to wear compression.
Hi ThereThank you for your question and photograph. If you saw the result after the treatment and are wearing the pressure garment properly there is absolutely nothing to worry about. I have personally done more Bodytite treatments than most people in the world and would say that if it looks ...
Thank you for your question. A small percentage of patients who present for a breast lift would be good candidates for the BodyTite breast lift. This can be due to several issues. If the breasts are deflated, a lift without augmentation is not going to be impressive. If the breasts are quite...
It appears that the fat removal was potentially uneven. A revision procedure using Safelipo can improve the overall result. Fat grafting remaining contour abnormalities would add more improvement to the result.
