Numbness in left pinky and ring finger after Bodytite in arms, is this nerve damage?

I had BodyTite procedure in my arms and feel numbness in my left pinky and ring finger, my pinky finger is slightly bent and occassional I feel a tingly sensation. Is this normal? And what is the chance the nerve is damaged? please help

Temporary nerve injury or neuropraxia is a known complication of Bodytite. Your symptoms are consistent with inadvertent trauma to the ulnar nerve at the elbow. These symptoms are usually short lived and more likely due to physical trauma from cannula manipulation or compression due to swelling or the garment. BodyTite is very safe. The peak temperature settings for BodyTite should not cause permanent nerve damage. Additionally, the internal/external monitoring system adds another layer of safety when using RF heating.As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Thank you for your question. You did not say how far out you are from your procedure. The symptoms you are describing are consistent with an ulnar nerve injury or ulnar nerve compression. It is possible that this is due to swelling creating a compression on the ulnar nerve following your procedure versus an actual injury to the ulnar nerve from the procedure. BodyTite treatments are typically performed with a peak temperature of 50-60 degrees Celsius which is unlikely to cause a nerve injury. Trauma from the movement of the cannula or any associated liposuction may result in a nerve injury. These usually resolve in a few weeks to months but may persist longer. I would follow up with your surgeon immediately so that they can assess what is occurring. I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Hi ThereThank you for your question. Without wanting to be disrespectful - in this day and age if you do not have a mobile number for 24/7 contact with your doctor after lipo treatment then you should not be having treatment with them.I hope this has been sorted by now but probably the garment is on too tight rather than any nerve damage.
