When will I start to see my results after Bodytite procedure on my upper arms? (photo)

Question

I had Bodytite done on my entire back and upper arms 4 weeks ago. I have seen a huge difference on my back and I am very happy. However, my arms were noticeably smaller right after surgery but now they are the same size from before my surgery, especially on the top half. I still have that fat bump/bulge. I have been massaging everyday like I was told. Is the there some rare possibility that it just didn't work on my arms? I can't provide before photos for obvious reasons, I always hid my arms.

Thank you for question and for sharing your BodyTite experience.  I have found that while swelling does go down dramatically in the first few weeks, it may take a 2-3 months for things to completely go down.  On-going compression may help accelerate the swelling reduction.  The skin tightening effects may even progress throughout the first year.  I would continue to follow along with your plastic surgeon.  Best of luck.

It can take 3-4 months for a result to become apparent following BodyTite. The result is progressive and contraction will continue for upwards of 12 months.I would recommend continued compression and patience. If you had a good result initially (barring a fluid collection, which would be fairly obvious), you will likely be fine.As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Thank you for the detailed question & corresponding photo. You should expect to wait about 3 months to see the full results of BodyTite to all treated areas. Patients have a lot of swelling and bruising immediately post op and until that is resolved it will be hard to appreciate any improvements from the surgery. Lymphatic massage by a professional may help improve the lumps and swelling in your arms. Bodytite works in terms of skin contraction.  Did you have liposuction with the procedure.  If so then an exam is necessary to see if this is fluid accumulation versus residual fatty tissue.

Good morning,Liposuction with BodyTite is one of the treatments that is really achieving great results.As usual, the Specialist must give a proper indication based on the patient's problem.Very often we see excellent treatments that do not yield good results because the indications were incorrect.For my experience and the results I had, the combination of Radio Frequency with Liposuction was a great invention, especially for patients with moderate skin rash or up to 40/45 years.However, beyond the indications, it's important to wait 90 to 120 days to begin testing the true results of the treatment.Consider that up to 6 months, the results will not be considered definitive.For my experience I had some (rare) cases that had improvements up to 1 year.Give a measurement and image verification program (every 15 days is fine), do not stress too much on taking pictures and taking measurements every day. It does not serve anything.It is important that you follow the advice of your specialist. If you have been entrusted with him until now, it's right that you follow him until the end, especially because he has given you great results.

BodyTite is a phenomenal technology that combines radiofrequency heat energy and liposuction (to varying degrees). The radiofrequency energy literally creates a controlled thermal burn that causes instantaneous shrinkage and injury. The instant shrinkage is overtaken by swelling from liposuction tumescent solution. However, that tissue as the swelling slowly but surely resolves also begins to contract because of the thermal burn we create. What this means is you have a great long term treatment with no major scarring, but you definitely need to be super patient. You probably sleep on your back which is why it is looking so good. The arms will take up to 6 months to see the final result. If it looks awesome early, that's just a bonus.

Thank you for your question. The arms are very difficult to assess on visual inspection without comparison to earlier photos. At this time you may still have some significant swelling. The 3 month point would be a good time to assess the success or lack thereof for your BodyTite procedure. It can take 6-12 months for the body to remodel following a procedure but by 3 months you should be able to make a good assessment.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
