Butt implants range in size from 100+ cc to 712cc.  Of the two gluteal implant manufacturers (AART, Implantech) in the USA, AART makes a 690 ccs round implant.  Intramuscular implants can improve volume by 400 cc or so, depending upon the size of the individual. A significant amount above this volume compromises healing by creating more tension on the healing incision.  An exam would be necessary to verify the best size implant for you to obtain the results you are seeking.  For those patients who desire more volume, buttock implants and fat transfer to the buttocks can be combined.

In general there is no particular stated limit to the size of semi-solid silicone rubber buttock implants. Custom sizes can be made above 700ccs. However it may take the patient multiple operations to reach their maximum desired size. What matters most is what is the best shape of implant and the maximum size implant that can be placed during the first surgery. The most important factor to consider is that the implants must be placed within the gluteus muscle (a.k.a. “intramuscular”) NOT on top of the muscle nor “subfascial”. The implant life and longevity of good, tasteful, and realistic results are all best with the “intramuscular” technique, period.For selecting the right size AND shape implants, I have found the best way to assure this is to simply measure the actual dimensions of the patient’s buttock muscle and quantity and quality/density of the underlying gluteus muscles. With these anatomical measurements, I can select an implant that not only significantly augments the buttock but also supplies the correct 3-dimensional enhancement to look as real as possible...even in the most petite patients. Note, height and weight are considered but not nearly as relevant as the above measurements.  Hope this helps.  

You will not be able to successfully place a 1000cc implant the first procedure. You will need to start off with a smaller size and then exchange the implants after the pocket stretches.  The implant will need to be made custom.Please remember to choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in this procedure and is well known for it.
