Filler in masseter? Will the the Masseter go back to its originial size?

Hello I got som filler (HA) behind the Ramus angle of the jaw bone to strengthen the look of the face. What happend was that most of it migrated to the Masseter muscle and made it more bulky. Will the the Masseter go back to its originial size ? Best Phil

There are many options for jawline contouring:
1) implants
2) fat or filler injections along the bone
3) botox for masseter hypertrophy or platysma muscle/neck bands
4) ThermiRF/J Plasma/Renuvion/InMode FaceTite for internal heating
5) Thermage or Ultherapy skin tightening
5) PDO Novathreads or instalift threads for lifting
6) Neck or facelifting surgery
7) VASERlipo with or without platysmaplastyIf you inject filler to this area its GOING to get bulky which is the point.  so if you dont like that look . then reverse it.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hi Phil,
No worries!  The hyaluronic acid will break down and be metabolized by your body and your masseters should regain their regular shape (they won't get stretched out or anything like that).  If you want --hyaluronidase can be injected to the area to dissolve the filler without harming the muscle fibers.
As an aside, it may not have migrated to the muscle but be under it, causing the muscle to protrude out more.  Sometimes it can get into the parotid gland and cause some temporary irritation, making the parotid gland more prominent.  I'm just theorizing here.  The main thing is that the filler will dissolve and things will return to normal.
