Am I a good candidate for a lip lift? 18 mm philtrum (photos)

Question

Given my amount of upper tooth show, can I still get an upper lip lift? My philtrum is quite long at 18mm and I’m 23. I’d like 5-6mm, is this possible given this cursory look at my teeth?

It is very difficult to tell with the cropped pictures but 18 mm does measure on the longer side, however 5-6 mm is very short. Designing the amount to take and leave is one of the most important parts of the lip lift procedure. I typically tend towards leaving 10-14 mm depending on the age, nasal shape, lip shape, tooth show and patient desires. I would recommend setting up a consultation with a surgeon who can take good measurements and preform an assessment to let you know what is possible.

A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners.
