I have been trying to do a BBL but I keep getting turned down because of sarcoid. I don’t understand why.

Hello and thank you for your question. As long as you medical condition is stable and does not cause any functional deficit, you should be able to have the BBL. You will need to get a clearance letter from your doctor. I
would seek consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon for a full

Sarcoid is very rarely seen in patients undergoing plastic surgery. For that reason, plastic surgeons may be uncomfortable operating on patient with such a condition before medical clearance by your primary care physician and pulmologyst (or some other specialty involved in your treatment and follow up) give a green light. Good preoperative preparation would help your plastic surgeon to make right decision. Good luck.

Please talk to your rheumatologist to get clearance for plastic surgery and then I suggest you to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for your goals.

Sarcoidosis should not prohibit you from undergoing a cosmetic surgery. I suggest talking to your rheumatologist first and asking him or her about the appropriateness of elective cosmetic surgery. The bar for safety is pretty high when it comes to cosmetic surgery.
