It has been 10 weeks since removal of under muscle silicone implants with partial capsule removal. My right breast is larger and tender. I thought seroma but not sure after ultrasound. There is fluiid in the entire breast cavity. I am having aspiration next week. They estimated 92 ml of fluid. How can I prevent this from occurring again? I have worn compression since surgery.

Answer: Fluid During recovery fluid build up can occur in the space previously occupied by the implants. When this occurs your surgeon may remove the fluid via aspiration in the office. In certain cases a drain will be placed. Compression is beneficial, but does not guarantee that a seroma will not occur. Continue to follow the advice of your plastic surgeon and keep all follow up appointments.

Answer: Seroma Dear Beck46, seroma after implants removal is a common complications and that is the reason why some plastic surgeons place drains. Once seroma is formed, it can resolve after a series of aspirations. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.
