The difference between Halo and the Blue Light treatment?

Question

I had morpheaform BCC in 2008 and had Blue Light in 1/2011 and 2/2013. Is the Halo just cosmetic whereas the Blue Light treats early AK/BCC?? I SO HATED the Blue Light that I'm interested in something else for 1/2016

I would recommend consulting with a dermatologist to meet you skin needs.  Halo is a wonderful treatment for anti-aging and can help improve textual issues, but is not ideal to treat cancerous skin lesions or growths.

These are completely different procedures, Halo is a laser for resurfacing, texture, pores etc and blue light is for antiaging but also treats skin cancers and precancers.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Halo is a wonderful new technology for treating pigmentation and textural skin concerns on the face as well as other body areas.  The dual technology laser energy is delivered based on depth of penetration and the 'density' or skin area covered.  Because of this I would not recommend Halo as a means to treat skin cancers or even precancers.  Blue Light and Levulan work, but you are correct in that it hurts and has some down time.  There are newer, more innovative ways to use Blue Light which are much more comfortable than the FDA approved method.  Ask your doctor.

Halo and Blue Light are completely different. treatments. Halo is a complete skin rejuvenation treatment. You will see improvements in overall tone and texture in addition to significant removal of discoloration, reduction in fine lines, reduced pore size, skin reflectivity and glow. If you are trying to treat sun damage, then Halo should be considered seriously. Blue light provides minimal improvement for aging skin, and also treats skin cancers and precancers.
