Different techniques and devices may have different protocols. At our office we treat no sooner than 4 weeks apart. Asian skin is more prone to hyperpigmentation, so I would err on the side of caution and treat every 4 weeks. Also, make sure you are wearing sunblock consistently.
Each physician has technique preferences for any procedure and usually good reasons for their preference(s). Different size needles and devices are used for microneedling. Since there is not much scientific literature as to the specifics of treatment regimens opinions about treatment parameters are the mainstay at this point.
Please consult in person with an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon prior to making treatment decisions.
For microneedling treatments we space them about four weeks
apart. We find that this time frame
works well for healing and optimal results.
We typically allow three weeks between micro-needling sessions. We use Rejuva pen system. I think the machine used is irrelevant whereas the practitioner is is critical.
Our patients have been thrilled with the results.
Microneedling with PRP is a great choice to help with your acne scars and uneven skin tone. In our practice we recommend 3 weeks between treatments to achieve the best results. You will love your results!!
Congratulations on choosing a technique that will slowly but surely improve acne scarring. PRP as an add on will speed the process even more. Certainly plan on more than 3 sessions. The more you do, the better the skin will look. We typically recommend 3-4 weeks apart for most patients. We often start at 4 weeks as the skin needs to 'rev up' a bit with faster cell turnover and more rapid recovery seen after a couple of micorneedling sessions. We never recommend sooner than every 3 weeks.
Thank you for your question! In my practice, I have found that the optimal time period between microneedling treatments is 3 weeks, and no longer than 6 weeks.
I hope this answer is helpful. Best of luck!
We do microneedling with lasers and often separate treatments by 3-6 weeks. You can do them as early as weekly if you are healed. Best, Dr. Emer.
