Eye bags treatment - fat repositioning. Is this a hard surgery? (Photo)

fat transposition is rarely if at all needed in majority of cases involving eye bags specially your age which I have yet to encounter need for fat transposition.  Your skeletal facial structure should be analyzed. Best to have multiple consults.   

Transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty with repositioning of the fat bags is the ideal treatment for under eye bags. It is a fairly specialized procedure. One has to be familiar with eye anatomy. It is important to preserve the fat, rather than removing them as you don't want to be left with hollow sunken eyes after.

best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Based on
your photograph, you may benefit from fat transposition of the lower eyelids.  Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise.   Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

Yes, fat repositioning is a good approach for many patients and your photos suggest you may be a candidate. The fact that THREE surgeons have suggested it should give you confidence in the recommendation, but the pricing variation may be related to a number of factors:1. Is the procedure going to be done with general anesthesia using a physician anesthesiologist, or a nurse anesthetist, or under local anesthesia without an anesthesia provider?2. How long does the surgeon expect it to take (OR facility and anesthesia fees are billed by time)3. Is skin removal planned, and are other maneuvers part of the surgical approach?I wholeheartedly agree with you not to just go for the cheapest offer, but look critically at the counseling and advice you got in each consult, the experience and training credentials of each surgeon, and their results.

Strictly from a technical stand point lower eyelid fat transposition is a more complex procedure compared to fat removing procedures. As with every surgery ask to see a portfolio of cases to make sure you have a qualified, experienced surgeon.  Good luck and I hope this helps Dr David 

Eye bag surgery depends on what is causing the eye bags. If your only issue is with too much fat, then the procedure can be shorter and less costly. More issues such as extra skin, volume loss, and tear trough deformity may require more time and raise the price of the procedure.  Sometimes, a simple procedure to just remove some fat, can actually accentuate your tear troughs and make your eyes look older and worse after surgery. That is why my patients undergo a careful eye examination where I examine the bones around the eyes, ligaments, muscles, skin, and fat to see what techniques have to be used to make sure the lid-cheek junction is smooth and the eyelid position looks appropriate after surgery. Hope this helps!Johnson C. If you have fullness and bags under the eyes, you would benefit from a lower blepharoplasty.  This removes the excess fat and a little skin if needed, and creates a smoother contour to your eye.  I would keep looking till you feel comfortable with your surgeon and your procedure.  You are wise to not choose simply on price.

Fat repositioning of the lower eyelid must done with utmost care in order to avoid irregularities that can occur after such procedures. Fat transfer with micro-droplets which is entirely a different procedure should be considered.
