How much does it cost to deflate implants in-office?

I usually charge $500 to deflate implants. However, once the implants are deflated, you should have them removed in a very short period of time, in the order of a few months at most. Often times, implant removal results in dissatisfaction due to hanging skin, empty appearance and require a lift. The technique I recommend is explantation and lift using The Bellesoma Method. The implants are removed, your breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained, if not injured during your previous surgery. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.

Having "under the muscle" or "over the muscle" saline implants deflated a few weeks before a breast lift or BAM will give you time to determine if you are pleased with the results of your breasts. Leaving a capsule behind is preferred if it is thin and pliable. If there are calcific components, or if the capsule is deforming the breast tissue, then removal of the capsule may be warranted. Call patient coordinators in several board certified PS offices to determine the going rate for simple deflation.

the cost of procedure depends on a lot of factors (type of procedure, number of treated areas, anesthesia fee, surgeon, facility fee, city, etc.). It would be the best to visit or call plastic surgery offices and ask for a price.

The costs for deflation should be fairly low, but will vary from location to location. I would suggest calling surgeons in your area and ask for the price of consultation and draining the implants. Once emptied, you still will want to remove the empty bags for comfort.

This will vary by surgeon and location. You may be able to get a quote over the phone by calling a few board certified plastic surgeons in your area.

This is a wonderful idea. Having the implants deflated and then giving time to allow the breast to contract down allows one to visualize what their breasts look like without implants. Then, a patient can decide if they just want them removed, or want mastopexy with or without reduction. The fee would be up to the surgeon, but this might be covered in whatever the new patient consultation fee is. Furthermore, breast implants will need to be removed after they are deflated, so once you deflate them, you are committed to having some type of surgery, at the least removing the deflated implants.
