I would like to know if there is a connection between CoolSculpting and colon problems.

Question

I had one session of Cool Sculpt in June 2017. It looked nice but I spent the Christmas holidays in a hospital. I could feel how cold my stomach area deep inside. I had a horrible experience as the lining of my colon was shed; blood pouring out; I was admitted to the ICU and was released on the 26th of December. I am beginning to think that there is a connection between the Cool Sculpt and the blood loss. I was dehydrated but I found it hard to believe as I am constantly drinking something.

Sorry to hear of your experience. Gastrointestinal issues are not known to be associated with CoolSculpting in any way. CoolSculpting targets subcutaneous fat, located just below the dermis and does not affect any other tissues or organs. There are several reasons you could be experiencing those symptoms. If you haven’t already, follow up with your primary care provider or a gastroenterologist to help you find the cause of your intestinal problems.

There is no connection between colon problems and CoolSculpting treatments.  Sadly you had a very bad medical situation that was coincidentally close in time to the CoolSculpting.

Coolsculpting  could not cause the symptoms you describe there is no connection.  The GI system is very complicated and I would recommend you find the underlying cause to what seems to be an auto immune disorder.

I have never heard of any situations where a CoolSculpting treatment has caused the type of symptoms you describe. I understand the obvious correlation you may discern given the timing of your problems occurring after treatment. CoolSculpting only targets subcutaneous fat, which is right below the dermis. I would recommend contacting your primary health provider as this may be due to an underlying issue.

Coolsculpting is superficial treatment of the subcutaneous fatty tissue and should not interact with organs within andomen, unless you have a hernia and bowel was very close to the treated area. It it hard to answer your question without knowing your medical history and physical exam though. Hope this helps
