Peter Petropoulos, MD

Dr. Petropoulos is one of the finest physicians I have ever met. I should know, I went to George Washington University for my MD in internal medicine. He immediately puts you at ease and will work with you to give you the results you want. Every time I leave his office I feel good about myself at age 55. You will not be sorry to consult and trust Dr. Petropoulos as I wholeheartedly do.

Let me begin by first saying that I VERY rarely write reviews. My exceptional experiences at Potomac Medical Aesthetics, however, are enough to make an exception. I have been to med spas and even a couple plastic surgeons’ offices in NY, Philly, Maryland, and the DC metro area. I’m a tough critic, so I don’t say this lightly—Potomac Medical Aesthetics is a cut above the rest.

Dr. Petropoulos is simply awesome. He has a knack for presenting complex medical principles and jargon in an accessible way. You can tell he’s an experienced physician. He speaks from a place of authority with extensive knowledge of the procedures, and furthermore, the human body. Dr. P is also personable, funny, and makes you feel comfortable. It’s also obvious that he cares about the science involved. Mentions of reading about the latest research are a subtle reminder of his dedication. He’s honest, fair, and generous. He takes his time and is very thorough. He will also happily answer any questions. You can tell that he understands the importance of educating his patients. Rather than try to “sell” you on anything, Dr. P gives you an honest, comprehensive assessment during consultations. He’s upfront about the expectations you should have. Dr. P gave me recommendations based on what suited my body in particular. He always considered how I could get the most bang for my buck. He made a phenomenal recommendation (treating an area that would have a particular impact on my look). I went with his recommendation— WOW, was he right! It’s changed the look of my face. My mom has tagged along with me for my treatments. Dr. P was kind enough to buy both my mom and I lunch when I had a series of treatments that lasted through the afternoon. Long story short: you’re in good hands as his patient.

I would be remiss not to mention an absolute game-changer of a product that Dr. P introduced me to. It’s called “TransFORM Body Treatment with TriHex Technology” by Alastin Skincare. It has definitely enhanced the results of my treatments—which I had amazing results from as is—to a startling degree. After ONE application, I started to see an improvement in my skin. I have tried countless beauty products from drug store brands to the luxury brands. In terms of efficacy this product almost seems too good to be true. It improves the appearance and firmness of the skin right before your eyes. It’s worth every penny.

The team there is amazing. As a patient/consumer you feel as if the staff is an asset to you—and they are. They all genuinely care about your experience, your comfort, and your results.

Patricia has mainly handled correspondence, scheduling, and payment. She is friendly, detailed-oriented, and organized. She also proactively considers things like scheduling and rewards programs from the patient’s perspective. Sabine is also great. She gave me a hydra facial and assisted Dr. P during the majority of my treatments. She is knowledgeable, kind, and very attentive. She anticipates your needs and makes sure you’re comfortable.

I met Dr. P’s wife (Melissa), who is a CRNP, when she assisted during my first round of treatments. She’s super nice. To give an example about the level of care they strive to offer...when I returned about a week later to finish my treatments Melissa had made a point to order a certain tea I had previously asked about. This is a perfect illustration of the level of attentiveness you can expect there.

I had gotten the same non-invasive treatment done at very reputable plastic surgeon’s office several years ago. My experience at Potomac Medical Aesthetics has been superior in every way—from the consultation to the treatment itself to the results. I drive about an hour to get there (usually more with traffic), but it’s totally worth it.

I can’t enough positive things about Dr. Petropoulos and his team. I would be 100% comfortable recommending this place to my friends and family. So glad to have found my go-to!

I did A LOT of research on a doctor before choosing someone to do my Halo treatment, many consultations with some of the top board certified derms in the DMV and I choose Dr. P because:
1. He took the time to explain everything and answer my zillion questions, even responded to me on his personal time while he was out of the office
2. His staff was awesome, seriously the sweetest people who made sure that I had what I needed and felt comfortable from the time of my consultation to the day of the treatment
3. I truly felt his passion for aesthetics and knew he would make sure I got the best possible results—no cookie cutter approach, he knows his stuff
The treatment went really well, even better than I had anticipated and I know that was because of Dr. Ps experience, his attention to detail and genuine commitment to a great outcome. Through the combined Halo/BBL treatment he removed brown spots that required daily concealer. I joke that I am Benjamin Button, aging in reverse. Really fantastic team and incredible results!

Dr. Petropoulos is a godsend. After losing a significant amount of weight, my face lost a lot of volume and I was tired of hearing how tired or sad I looked! Dr. P and I sat down together and worked out a plan to address the areas of my face that were giving me the most concern. Then we went to work! I say "we" because Dr. P. solicited my feedback along the way and at all times I felt completely comfortable with the process. He spent a great deal of time with me, making sure everything was exactly as I wanted it. He is personable, funny and made me feel like I was his only concern during my time in the office. That coupled with his high degree of skill and years of experience in this industry make him the obvious choice for anyone who would like to explore options in the medical esthetics arena. I am so thrilled with my results! I look at least 10 years younger and have received so many compliments. I'm so happy to have found my "go to" medical professional when I need a little help turning back the clock. Thanks again, Dr. P!

I am from Miami, Florida and I was referred to Potomac Medical Aesthetics while vacationing in D.C. Let me tell you that this state of the art facility is the place to go for any aesthetics treatment you might need! Dr. Petropoulos is hands-down one of the best doctors I have seen. He is patient, positive, thorough, attentive, flexible, and personal. I saw Dr. Petropoulos for the first time to have Dysport aesthetic treatment on my forehead and wrinkles in between my eyebrowns. I was nervous and skeptical about having Dysport injections on my face and he made me feel comfortable and relaxed. He was amazingly friendly and took the time to asked me questions about my health, concerns, my needs and also discussed some recommendations as to what I need. I find that doctors usually are distracted or rushed when visiting their patients, but not with Dr. Petropoulos. I had the sense that this doctor REALLY cared about my whole being and not just the fact that i needed some “work done”. He even took the time to contact some of his trustful medical network in Miami so I could have a back up aesthetic assistance while home. His medical assistant, Sabine, was very friendly, well informed and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone that values their body, health and wants a doctor that’s trustworthy, empowering, and knowledgable about his practice and advanced aesthetics. I highly recommend Dr. Petropoulos and have consulted with him for CoolSculpting, filler and Botox. He explains each procedure in painstaking detail, and also collaborates with me on results and expectations. His office is clean and modern, and the staff are incredibly nice and accommodating. The location could not be more convenient, right off I-270. I look forward to receiving more services from Dr. P!

Excellent experience with Dr Petropoulos! Everyone in the office is courteous and friendly. Office is beautiful and state of the art. Dr Petropolous explains all procedures clearly and takes his time with you. I would highly recommend him and am very happy with my skintyte results!!

Great after results without extended downtime. Got the deep resurfacing results, reduced wrinkles and pores/brown spots have diminished greatly! (BBL was added to procedure)
The treatment includes a pre/post Care Kit that I used at home.
