Am I a good candidate for a temporal eyebrow lift and a lip lift? (Photos)

Question

Would these modifications improve my appearance? I have always felt as though my low eyebrows and long/thin upper lift have thrown off my facial proportions. I would also like to address the hooding of my eyes to some degree, and am hoping that the lateral eyebrow lift would help with that. Would it be possible to get these surgeries in conjunction, and under local anesthesia as opposed to general?

As we age, our eyelids naturally sag and droop. A combination approach would be best to see visible improvement. In terms of non-surgical treatment options, I would recommend a Chemical Brow Lift (using Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Jeuveau) and filler injections to rejuvenate the temples, eyebrow, eyelid, eye troughs, upper eye hollows, and forehead. I typically combine this with Ultherapy and thread lifting to lift the brow; RF and skin tightening laser treatments to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin; and laser or superficial RF devices for improvements in texture, color, and any crepey skin around the eyes as needed. Thank you for your question. A brow lift can improve the symmetry of your brows, reducing any creases. There are various options to lift the outer tail of the eyebrow including creative makeup, Botox, pretrichial brow lift, and endoscopic brow lift. You appear to be young so less is more. Consultation will determine what/if any procedures are good for you.

For the lips: there is a long distance from your nose to upper lip. If you do not show teeth when opening the mouth, a “buckhorn “ lip lift should give you more upper lip. It involves placing an incision around and inside the nose: it looks quite natural as opposed to other lip lifts that can make you look “fish mouthed”.
The temporal brow lift should relieve some of the holding that you have, and lift the tail of he brow. Eyelid skin needs to be evaluated for excess to provide a natural balance. Too much lateral pull can give a “Spock” type of appearance, whereas too much pull centrally can make you look surprised . We do these procedures endoscopically.

Lateral vs central brow lift and lip lift? A central brow lift would give a more natural look and not the evil look often seen with a lateral brow lift. This can be endoscopic if your hairline is low or with 1inch incisions without a noticeable scar using the Irregular Trichophytic incision, we developed years ago. The lip lift can be done at the same time. These can be done under local anesthesia depending on the patient.Make sure you see close after photos of the hairline.

and they encroach on your lids contributing to your hooding.  A temporal or subcutaneous browlift can be done to help alleviate this and produce a more alert look and better arched brows.  There are many ways to do a browlift but my preference is the subcutaneous lift that can be done in the office under local and easily redone if needed.  As for your thin lip, a lip lift will not really do much to improve the proportions of your lips and I would suggest you consider either fillers, fat grafting, or lip implants that are 'permanent' until you choose to have them removed.  This can be done under local as well and your procedures could be combined and done at the same time in the office with local.

Temporal brow lifting can be accomplished through different techniques. When done nonsurgically, neurotoxin or filler can be used to lift the brows without surgery. Surgical options include internal browpexy, direct temporal browplasty, and endoscopic browplasty. I would recommend an in person evaluation or skype evaluation with an eyelid expert.

In our practice, we do not perform lip lifts for a variety of reasons. A full set of facial photographs are required to make a determination about being a candidate for brow lift procedure. A temporal brow lift will raise the temporal hairline, so it's important to keep that in mind since you already have a high hairline.
