How long should I wait before my second Coolsculpting treatment?

There is no widely accepted standardized approach to this and answers will vary from place to place. We customize our treatment plan for each individual person. We will do a second treatment from anywhere between 6 weeks to 3 months after the first. We have seen excellent results with this approach. The important thing is that you trust your provider and the treatment plan they have set out for you. Hope this helps answer your question.

Thank you for your question. This can depend on the area of treatment. It is common to schedule a second treatment for the chin area sooner. In most cases everyone will need that second treatment. It can also depend on what shape your in. If the doctor knows that you will need more than one treatment she may be trying to speed up the process. However you shouldn't do anything that you are uncomfortable with. Just have a thorough discussion with your doctor about your concerns, and their approach. Good luck!

Hello and thank you for your question. You need to have at least two treatments completed one month apart to see true results. In most patients true results will not be seen until 2-3 months after the second treatment. 

At our state of the art facility, we typically wait 3 months to retreat a patient. For patients who know they will need a second treatment and do not want to wait the 3 months we will then retreat after 1 month. I would say it's safe to have the second treatment 1 month after. Most patients want to see the transformation after the first treatment, which is why we wait. Best of luck!

Hi chrysmc.  I routinely request the patient to wait 8-12 weeks before the next sessions in the same areas to allow them to get maximum effect from the first session.  This time frame allows the majority of swelling/inflammation to subside and all the frozen fat cells to be cleared out. This also gives time to exercise and/or lose weight to maximize your results. It is safe to proceed with CoolSculpting four weeks after your first session.  The advantage to waiting for 3 months is that you will see your result and can then decide if you would like more treatments, however if you are certain that you will have two treatments then go ahead, you will reach your end result sooner.All the best to you,Dr. Nancy de Kleer
