Please help with advice on what I can get done for my face. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last year and ever since then I have formed a double chin and always look tired in the face. I feel like I look older then I am and it messes with my self esteem.
Answer: Facelift at 24? Skin care, retinol, sunscreen, peels, mini-lift Concentrate on preventing sun damage by protecting your skin with sunscreen, hats and clothing. Have your dermatologist recommend a medical-grade skin care regimen with retinol and hyaluronic acid. Get regular chemical peels. If you do start to see some jowling, a mini lift, with or without a neck lift would give improvement. I hope this helps.

Answer: Facelift at 24 Thank you for your question and for providing images. I don't believe you would benefit from a facelift at this time but you are also still young and should have a good amount of laxity in your skin to have wonderful results with a combination of PrecisionTx and a good skin care regimen. I would recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area to determine the best surgical route for you. Good luck!

Answer: Facelift at 24? Thank you for your question. You do not have enough loose skin to warrant a facelift. Generally speaking 24 is far too young to obtain a facelift procedure and you appear to have great skin texture. Based on your photos, I think you would obtain a nice result from dermal fillers. Properly placed facial filler in the cheeks will accentuate the cheeks and even help to pull up slight lines around the mouth, giving your face an overall rejuvenated look. I recommend setting up a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Best of luck!

Answer: Facelift at 24? Thank you for the question and your photos. In short, in my opinion, 24 is too young for a facelift. Barring some very unusual circumstances, this is not indicated. Other options do exist, however, and include nonsurgical and surgical procedures. Nonsurgical treatments such as Kybella, CoolMini, SculpSure Submental, and ThermiTight can all offer some fat reduction and contour improvements. For more significant cases, surgical options would include liposuction, chin implant placement, and some less commonly performed procedures like buccal fat reduction or neck contouring via removal of the subplatysmal fat pad and shaving of the digastric muscles. Please visit with a few board-certified specialists who routinely perform facial surgery before making your decision. Take care and best of luck!

Answer: Facelift at 24? I don't recommend a facelift at this time, because you don't have enough skin laxity. I would recommend volume enhancement using a number of techniques ranging from fat to synthetic fillers which will help symmetry. Once facial aging progresses to skin laxity and dissent, I recommend a micro or many facelift. I actually have found that patients who get treated surgically sooner end up looking better longer. Sincerely, Philip J. Miller, MD, FACS Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon
