Hello! I am considering getting cheek fillers in the future, along with (possibly) other procedures to make my face shorter and "cuter". My face is also quite flat and even sunken in some areas - especially the apples of my cheeks/undereyes. I am wondering if cheek fillers, along with adding volume to my cheeks, will help my face appear shorter/plumper, to get that "cute" look? Thank you!
Answer: Dermal Fillers in Cheeks for a "Cuter" Face First off, you are an attractive young female. There are a certain features that are beautiful on all women. One of those features are high and defined cheeks. A high and defined cheek will look like a small hill in the area with the "'peak" of the hill just under the outside of your eye. This configuration of the cheek will reflect light and make the face appear awake, healthy, and beautiful. In your case, the cheeks are flat with a depression in middle of the area. The cheek lacks a smooth unified concave surface. Creating a smooth concave surface with the addition of fillers in the area would be beautiful on your face and it would appear natural. I typically use dermal fillers such as Restylane, Perlane, or Juvederm in the area. I hope this helps

Answer: Facial Contouring with Fillers (Juvederm Voluma, Vollure, Volbella, Radiesse, Bellafil), Sculptra, Fat Grafting, Implants Facial sculpting and contouring can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Countour, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance. Fat or implants are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Benefits of Cheek Fillers Hi dancer. Although your photos aren't the best quality, you can tell that you do have volume loss in your cheeks with a flattening of what's known as the Ogee Curve. In someone your age there is likely a hereditary component to this. With cheek fillers, not only will volume be replaced in your cheeks, but it will also give you a nice curvature, making your face appear rounder. My favorite filler for this is Juvederm Voluma. You can find out more information about it on our website. Hope this helps answer your question!

Answer: Dear dancer5962, Dear Cheek Filler for a Cuter Face Although difficult to tell from the photos that you submitted, your physical description of a flattened mid-face and lack of projection through the cheeks may well be a sign of some hereditary lack of cheekbone projection and sunkenness of the undereye. This constellation of findings in common in the aging face, but when present in more youthful faces, it is usually as a result of insufficient bony structure. It has been my experience that artificial extensive bony grafting or extensive craniofacial surgery is usually not warranted in these circumstances, as the advent and innovation of new soft tissue fillers that are safe and long-lasting make volumization of the face a much simpler, safer and aesthetically pleasing procedure. I have been a certified plastic surgeon for over 20 years and have focused for the past 20 years on cosmetic plastic surgery and particularly soft tissue volumization. For aesthetic concerns such as you describe, I generally use Juvéderm® Voluma™, as it can last up to two years, and a very small, blunt microcannula to insert these products for deficient areas of soft tissue volume under the eyes, through the cheek, along the cheekbone and other facial buttresses to enhance the beauty and femininity of the skeletal contours. I trust this advice has been of some assistance and best of luck. Sincerely, R. Stephen Mulholland, M.D. Certified Plastic Surgeon, Yorkville, Toronto
