Is it possible to make the most lateral part of the zygomatic arch (right in front of the ear) wider? I know it may be possible with implants, but can it just be done with fillers? I only want to make it wider by about 8mm. Would 4mm of filler on each side achieve this width to my face? I know it is an odd request. Thank you.
Answer: #fatgrafting , #cosmeticsurgery Dear soccer77Thank you for your question! Fillers can definitely give you a nice contour can along the arch- lasting 1 to 2 years- and there are several options. The surgical option is micro fat grafting- your fat is taken from the tummy or flank area, prepared and injected onto the actual zygomatic bone and arch. This will give a permanent contour change and enhancement! With Warm RegardsTrevor M Born MD

Answer: Is it possible to make the most lateral part of the zygomatic arch (right in front of the ear) wider? The optimal filler for treatment of the zygomatic (cheekbone) arch is Voluma. This can be placed back along the arch and even into the hairline to create lift and add volume. 8mm might be an aggressive goal for widening with filler. Further, if you're looking to create that much additional width you would likely need additional filler placed toward the middle of the cheek to maintain balance. Seek a consultation with a physician injector with alot of Voluma injection experience. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Cheeks can be made wider and more prominent by implants or fillers I perform a lot fewer cheek implants now that we have a variety of longer lasting facial fillers. The latest and greatest is Voluma. We can also use a number of other facial fillers such as Radiesse to enhance the cheeks. What's great about fillers is that they take about 20 minutes in the office and you go right back to work. No anesthesia, fewer risks and no time off from work.

Answer: Making the face wider with #fillers There are several fillers, including Sculptra, Voluma, and Radiesse, that can address this problem. Fillers have fewer potential side effects that surgery, and will give you an opportunity to preview the results if you do decide to go forward with a more permanent correction.

Answer: Posterior Zygomatic Arch Augmentation While you can use an injectable filler like Voluma to create a zygomatic widening effect, it is not administered in mms (thickness) but rather fractions of ccs. (volume) As a bone enhancement method, fillers do not have the same push or sustainability as an implant. There are specific implants that are used for application of the glenoid fossa rim that are placed through a small incision in the temporal hairline.
