The formation of smile lines (nasolabial lines) along the side of the nose and the development of tear troughs is very much related to the deflation (volume loss) that occurs in the mid-face (mid-cheek) region. From the photos provided appears to be descent and flattening of the cheeks--a flattening that extends diagnonally upward in a somewhat triangular shape toward the root of the nose and contributes to the tear trough deformity.Reinflation of this entire region can be easily and quickly achieved with injection of volumizing fillers. In my Upper East Side Manhattan practice I would use Volume XC and in my Israel satellite office, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved volumizing agents are available, Stylage XXL. Properly performed in the hands of an experienced injector, this reinflation, known as a nonsurgical mid-face rejuvenation will at once help to both diminish the smile lines, provide youthful projection to the cheek, and diminish the tear trough lines.
These are called nasolabial folds and may also be called parentheses lines. These can be smoothed away with fillers.
Those are called nasolabial or melolabial folds. They are the result of drooping of the cheek skin. This is a normal sign of aging or significant weight loss. The most common procedure to reduce these lines are fillers. You have many choices in this area of the face. I would recommend consultation with a respected facial plastic surgeon or general plastic surgeon in your community to go over the options in greater detail. Be well!
The reason the nasolabial folds appear is because of loss of support of the cheek. The cheek drops down leading to deepening of the NLF. Also, the bone in this area starts to absorb and things sink backward. Fat and muscle loss are also contributors. Luckily, the correction is fairly easy with use of fillers. Any of the fillers can be used for this correction. Correction of the cheek in addition to the NLF would lead to the best correction. Voluma, Restylane, and Radiesse or Sculptra are all appropriate for this, and I would also recommend cannulas so the bruising is minimized and the risks are less. The lines that run down the side of your face towards your mouth are nasolabial folds. They can be softened with facial fillers.
There are several fillers, including Sculptra, Voluma, and Radiesse, that can address this problem. Fillers have fewer potential side effects that surgery, and will give you an opportunity to preview the results if you do decide to go forward with a more permanent correction.
Facial sculpting and contouring can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Countour, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance. Fat or implants are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Although you technically have marionette lines you have no volume loss in your cheeks and your lines are more consistent with your anatomy than any age related changes. In case you were considering having a filler placed in your cheeks or your marionette area I would be careful because I...
