What could cause this bulge in abdomen after TT? (Photos)

That's interesting... I think the surgeon did a nice job with the traditional muscle tightening but in your case some different directions of the plication sutures may have improved the final outcome. Your pregnancy and the way you carried the baby likely stretched these areas and during the TT these areas weren't seen because you were laying flat and these bulges could not be seen. I think the treatment would be to go back in through your prior scars and just redo the muscle tightening purposely planning to tighten these areas. Best Wishes!!

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

I think most plastic surgeons are a little perplexed at your outcome.

So far I am in agreement with Szczerba, MD. Your fat layer is thin and the fullness is smooth and continuous above and below your scar. It appears this is the anatomy of your underlying oblique muscle wall.

I don’t think it’s related to how the surgery was performed but rather your unique anatomy.

Potentially oblique muscle tightening could have been done or could be done in the future to correct this.

A CT scan or ultrasound may or may not add useful information.

Most likely radiographic studies will come back normal and this will be considered your unique anatomy.

Redoing the procedure with muscle tightening of the oblique muscles will probably give a partial correction=improvement.

I agree that overall it was a nicely done tummy tuck.
