Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Generally speaking, thin patients who choose large implants may find it difficult to hide the implants for a “natural” look. However, it may still be possible depending on your choice of implants.
Patients often think in terms of cup size when considering augmentation. Unfortunately, devices are sized in terms of milliliters (cc) of volume. This can lead to some confusion when sizing. Additionally, it is important to remember that cup size itself is not standardized with variations from one manufacturer to another. Unfortunately, as many women can attest their cup size in an industry leader such as VS is not necessarily transferable to another brand.Another point which is often under appreciated is that of anatomy and starting point. Any implant will add volume to the volume which is already present. The implant is additive. A particular volume will not necessarily confer the same cup size to different patients (often times it will not even confer the same cup size to different breasts in the same individual...remember they are "sisters" not "twins"). A general rule of thumb is that 125cc can represent somewhere between 1/2 to a full cup size increase. Smaller volume differentials (25-50cc) are typically less consequential representing a volume change of less than a shot glass. However, I have found these numbers, at least anecdotally, to be of little help. Patients often present with notions/goals which do not correlate with these sorts of sterile volumetric assessments. When sizing patients, there are a number of useful tools including:-3D imaging (has the added benefit of offering a volumetric analysis of the pre-operative breast)-Breast sizers (rice bags)-Goal photosI also recommend that patients commit to a particular look rather than a cup size. Once a patient settles on a look that pleases them the overall cup size increase becomes less relevant.Based upon photos alone, you are a reasonable candidate for surgery. It is difficult/impossible to offer more concrete advice without exam/measures.As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
Hello! Great question. When looking at your photos, it is possible for you to achieve natural looking breasts with implants. When picking breast implant sizes, the most important thing will be measuring the base width of your breasts; this tells us how many CCs your breast can hold without having the implant moving outside of the pocket. We say we are "respecting the anatomy". Doing this, sometimes patients need to start with a smaller implant and work their way up to a larger implant to help maintain the integrity of the borders of the breasts. Majority of the time, patients are pleased with the first trial of implants though. Placing implants under the muscles is also another way to achieve more natural looking breasts, along with using silicone implants instead of saline. In women who do lack fat or tissue to the breasts, sometimes injectables like either their own fat or AlloClae are used to soften the border of the implant in the chest as well. Hopefully this helps some and good luck!
Hello and thank you for your question. It is difficult to determine possible postoperative cup size based on photographs alone. The selection of an appropriate implant size is complex and involves specific breast measurements, assessment of skin quality and a determination of the amount of breast tissue present. These factors can only be assessed during a physical examination. However, it is certainly possible to give you a natural looking result with properly selected implants. For best results, I would advise you to consult with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Good luck.
Thank you for your inquiry! There are different profiles that we can review with you. We would love to meet with you to discuss your options. Schedule a consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to help you reach your goals.
Thank you for your question. Achieving a natural-looking C or D cup is possible, even if you have little breast tissue. The key factors to consider are choosing the right implant size, proper implant placement, and considering skin laxity. Going from an A cup to a C or D cup requires 275-350cc of implant volume, but this can vary based on your body frame and breast width. It's important to select implants that match or are slightly smaller than your natural breast width to maintain a balanced appearance. Regarding implant placement, placing them under the muscle can create a natural slope and allow some natural sagging over time. Therefore, it's essential to have an in-person consultation with your surgeon to determine the best implant size and placement based on your breast width. Additionally, your skin should be assessed, as tight skin may cause the implants to sit higher initially, taking several months to settle into a more natural shape. Conversely, if you have looser skin, you may achieve the desired soft, slightly sagging look more quickly.
Thanks for your question! Getting a result like that will be a challenge with you because of your natural anatomy. Over time, your body will create new skin and things will soften, but you may have to accept a little less natural hang than your wish pic. I would suggest an in person consultation. Good luck!
Hello and thank you for your question. Honestly, a formal in-person evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are several reasons for this: 1) Bra sizes vary based on the clothing store (for example, Victoria's Secret tends to upsize everyone by a whole cup size)2) Most women do not wear the proper exact fitting bra size for their bodies3) The exact volume (in cc) needed to change cup size is different for different body types (e.g. 32A to 32D requires a different implant size than 38A to 38D)4) Be careful NOT to fall into the trap most women do- they see a certain implant size (e.g. 285 cc) or perhaps their friend had a certain size, and they want or request this or another size based on that. Everyone's body is different- 285 cc implants on your friend might look VERY different than they would on you. Be very careful not to make this mistake, because the goal is to find the right size and shape for YOU- for your particular body and your breasts.Because of those multiple factors, and because it is KEY to fully evaluate your breasts in person to make a full set of precise measurements to select the proper implant for you (incorporating factors like amount of breast tissue, implant type, base width, projection, etc), answering your question really would need a formal personalized consultation- to say anything before that would simply be guessing, which would be both unfair and unhelpful to you. Additionally, given your starting point and desired final size, it would be difficult to get a fully natural appearing result, but there are some things we can discuss to make your results look more natural than just placing implants alone.Your breasts are such a KEY area of your body and your femininity- therefore, you should ONLY trust an experienced aesthetic plastic surgeon. As such an expert, I have had extensive training and experience with complex aesthetic surgeries under a multiple world-renowned experts in the field. I’d recommend for you to setup a formal consultation with me (or another plastic surgeon who is extremely comfortable with aesthetic plastic surgery procedures) for a formal consultation to thoroughly discuss your surgical goals, undergo a formal examination, evaluate all your options (surgical and nonsurgical), and decide on the best procedure(s) and type of anesthesia for your specific case. I hope this helps!Dr. Donald GrovesAesthetic Plastic Surgeon
As long as the skin can give without leaving too much tension on the incision it is possible to get you to a full C cup, a good option to get that look would be possibly a teardrop implant. But you are definitely a great candidate for abreast augmentation
I would recommend seeing an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon. This surgeon will measure your breasts including key measurements we utilize to select the optimal implant volume for each individual patient. Ideally, this surgeon also has preoperative 3D imaging capability to show the potential simulation and outcome/results.
Nutritional optimization pre-operatively is always advisable. Supplementation is not necessarily required. As long as a patient is eating a healthy diet, they are unlikely to be deficient. It should also be discussed that several dietary supplements should be avoided due to increased risk of...
