I just had coolsculpting and I'm taking an antibiotic called doxyciclyne for my hormonal acne I would like to know if that would affect my results! Since the lady that did the treatment told me to not take any antinflamatory ...

Hello and thank-you for your questionThere is no evidence that Doxycycline which is a common antibiotic would have any effect when doing Coolsculpting treatments. I would visit with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss what is best for you.Best of luck.

Taking Doxycycline should not affect the results of your recent CoolSculpting procedure.  You can continue to take the antibiotic for your acne.

Doxycycline is a common antibiotic used for the treatment of acne. Although it has mild anti-inflammatory properties, there is no evidence demonstrating any effects on the outcome of your coolsculpting treatment.

There is no data to show that there is an issue with taking antibiotics and having a CoolSculpting treatment. While it is recommended to avoid anti-inflammatory medication, Doxycycline shouldn't have much affect in terms of causing inflammation.

Thanks for your question.  You should not have any problems with your CoolSculpting results due to taking this antibiotic. CoolSculpting practitioners request that patients not take anti-inflammatory medications because it can inhibit the body's natural fat cell removal process.  But, the process will still take place, it just might be a little slower.  Your results from CoolSculpting will be the same.  Good luck with your CoolSculpting journey!

Doxycycline should have no effect on your coolsculpting result. It is an antibiotic, and does not have anti-inflammatory effects.

CoolSculpting works by lowering the temperature of the surface fat cells for a predetermined period of time. Exposure to this prolonged cold results in the fat cell undergoing apoptosis or a programmed cell death. Doxycycline, despite it's mild anti-inflammatory effects, should not interfere with this process or influence the results.

Doxycycline is an antibiotic used to decrease the bacteria in the skin and would not interfere with CoolSculpting.  The use of antiinflammatory medications, NSAIDS, is debatable, and to my knowledge, there are no scientific papers regarding this question.  The educators at CoolSculpting University, the company's training camp, say that antiinflammatory meds are not a problem.  However, I want my patients to get the full benefit of the inflammatory effects on the skin, so I discourage and limit their use.  
To answer your question, however, Doxyclycline should not have an effect on your results.
