Redness on the nasal skin after rhinoplasty can happen for several reasons. As mentioned, increased vascularity at the skin can produce redness and take a few months to resolve. Sometimes the skin can get irritated from the paper strips that are used after rhinoplasty and after the strips come off the redness will rapidly improve. Lastly, some patients just have poor skin color and texture and can develop mild acne which can also appear red. Treating your redness depends on the cause. In some instances, and IPL laser can help reduce the redness. Talk to you surgeon, and trust the process. Good luck.
It's still too soon to tell what your final results will be, but I recommend following up with your surgeon about your concerns. You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. If, one year from now, you are unhappy with your nose, then that is the time to think about a revision procedure. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose and under eyes take the time to heal. I hope this helps.
Your nose and surrounding areas are going to be swollen for a while and you should be consulting the surgeon that performed the procedure but give yourself some time before going back in so some of it can subside. It can take up to a year for final results.Sincerely,Philip J. Miller, MD, FACS Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon
Thank you for your photos and question. After rhinoplasty surgery, the healing process can take up to 3 months to complete. Also, swelling may be present for up to a year after surgery. Swelling, redness, and bruising can be visible after surgery and are considered normal aspects of the healing process. I recommend contacting your plastic surgeon about your concerns and possibly having an in office consultation. Good luck and I hope this helps.
It takes 6 month for the nose to completely heal after a rhinoplasty. The nose has a lot of vascularity so it’s not unusual for redness to persist for some time after surgery. Regards,Dr. Michael Sullivan Sullivan Centre

This is one of the most challenging or all nasal procedures. The repair if successful will be weaker than the original septum. Rinsing with saline will not prevent the damage. Re-using would be a reckless decision
