The tip of my nose still seems to be very high and I’m really concerned.. should I be worried? It’s still very swollen and numb but I’m concered that it won’t drop as much as I hope it does.. help! :(
Answer: Concerns About Upturned And Numb Hello Thank you for your question, don't judge your results so early on. You are still healing, it truly takes 1 full year for the entire dorsum (profile) and sidewalls of the nose to fully heal and for all the swelling to dissipate. Rhinoplasty healing is a tedious process because it is one of the only surgeries where we are not removing excess skin. It takes 3 years for the tip to fully heal (only if significant tip work is performed). The tip takes the longest time to heal and mold to the new framework because it is the thickest skin of the nose. The skin over the profile is thinner than the skin over the tip. Healing takes time. Answer: 1 month post-op? Rhinoplasty Results It's still too soon to tell what your final results will be. You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. If, one year from now, you are unhappy with your nose, then that is the time to think about a revision procedure. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose and under eyes take the time to heal. I hope this helps.

Answer: 1 month Rhinoplasty Results You have to give yourself some more healing time. Your nose and surrounding areas are going to be swollen for a while and you should be consulting the surgeon that performed the procedure but give yourself some time before going back in so some of it can subside. It can take up to a year for final results. Sincerely, Philip J. Miller, MD, FACS Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Swelling after rhinoplasty As you have experienced, changes occur over the course of rhinoplasty healing. At first, the nose looks too "fat" and too "up," especially at the tip. Most of the dropping happens early, but there can still be significant changes over the full year and beyond. Be patient while you are healing and make sure to communicate with your surgeon any questions or concerns you have along the way!

Answer: Results one month post Rhino 1 month post op is WAY too soon to judge your overall result. This is a very common question here on RS. I know you want to see instantaneous results, and you are scared. Unfortunately, it does need some faith and patience. Your results will take 6-8 mos to see, and numbness in the tip at this point is very normal.
