You definitely need a lower facelift to correct the jawline. However if you have drooping eyes/eyebrows a total lift or browlift may also be required.

Far more important than the technique is the skill and experience of your plastic surgeon. Choose your surgeon rather than the technique and let them explain why one technique may be better than another.  See the below link on some suggestions on finding the most qualified Plastic Surgeon for you.  Always insist on a board certified plastic surgeon.

You do not yet have enough sagging to justify a facelift. Concentrate on preventing sun damage by protecting your skin with sunscreen, hats and clothing. Have your dermatologist recommend a medical-grade skin care regimen with retinol and hyaluronic acid. Get regular chemical peels. If you do start to see some jowling, a mini lift, with or without a neck lift would give improvement. I hope this helps.

Without a lateral (side) photo I cannot say with certainty that an extended chin implant would be needed but likely it is. Botox to reduce the Masseter muscle is another great idea. Facelift or lipo/facetite to slim the lower face are 2 great options to consider as well. 

There are both surgical and non-surgical options to contour your jawline. Surgical options include chin implantation and liposuction.  Non surgical options include Botox injections to the masseter and filler placement to the chin. 

Hello and thank you for your question.  It would be helpful if you could also include a true lateral side profile picture of your neck line and chin.  Based on your description of having a recessive chin, a chin implant can be performed for
improved jaw line contour.  I always use a medpor implant with screw
fixation, which stays in place over time.  A silicone chin implant has a
high rate of malrotation over time.  Make
sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients
who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer
animation system. The most important aspect is to find a
surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a
qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Arancini88. It sounds like you are a candidate for a Mini-Facelift. My favorite technique is the MACS short scar Mini-Facelift. Developed in Europe, it is the ideal approach for the younger patient, not ready for a full facelift, or patients who desire a less invasive procedure with a shorter recovery time.  I don’t believe you need a chin implant and once the lower third of your face is lifted, the contour of your chin region laterally will also be improved. Be certain to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.

I would suggest a Buccal fat pad removal and chin enlargement would be the best plan for you to define your midface and a chin implant will strengthen your jawline and the lower 3rd of your face. We would add volume to your cheekbones to enhance your look.

While you have only presented a single front view, you lack chin and jawline structure which makes your face look short and have some soft tissue fullness draping over it. Creating more of a chin and jawline would help length you face and give it better proportions. A standard chin implant will not work well for your needs since it will requite more of an extended chin implant that provides augmentation far back along the jawline as well. A custom implant approach may be best but further picture analysis is needed before going to that conclusion.

 A beautiful jaw line is straight and angled upward to get a youthful appearance. Yours is slightly wide in the back by the masseter muscle‘s and you have early jowl formation iand a depression just behind the chin. All of these lead to a wide and irregular jaw line. At 37 years old you probably have very good skin and the ability to retract well. I would see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area who can discuss options for removing fat from the jaw area, potentially Botox to reduce the width caused by the masseter muscle. You could also have a filler placed behind the chin all of this would be simple in office procedures to improve your jaw line. Beyond that you can be more surgically aggressive with chin implants or mini-facelift procedures, but I would try simple things first at your age. Best of luck! Dr. Boschert
