Can Botox cause itching? I had it a few weeks ago. (photo)

Question

If I had Botox a few weeks ago I've been having a lot of itching around my eyes and my eyelids have gotten very droopy. The botox was on my forehead and the lines in between the bridge of my nose my forehead does not itch but the inside corners of my eyes and my eyelids are itching like crazy can this be from the botox

Forehead Botox should not result in itchiness of your eyelids. You may be experiencing a contact dermatitis or blepharitis. If your eyelids are droopy from your procedure, that may be causing you to touch your eyes more than usual, and your undereye skin may be sensitive. Consider consulting with a reputable ophthalmologist since your symptoms have been lasting for weeks. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph

Botox in and of itself does not have itching as a reported side effect.  You may be experiencing an allergic reaction to something else used during the procedure, or something completely unrelated to it. The droopiness is probably from the Botox that was injected.  I would advise you to follow-up with the practitioner that treated you.  Good Luck!

It is possible that your eyes are more dry and that could cause the itchiness that you are experiencing from Botox. I would consult your treating physician for examination.  Best, Dr. Green

Itching is not a reported side effect of Botox and it may be something that was used in the prep. The drooping is due to the Botox and Iopidine eye drops will help  see your doctor about the itching

You need to follow up with the doctor that injected Botox. You did not mention if you ever had Botox before or if this was your first experience with it. As a rule of thumb I think your itching might be totally unrelated to the injection. Although I tend to believe anything is possible, I never had a patient developing itching after Botox.
