Can Botox be used to lower eyebrows?

There are muscles throughout the face that cause facial animation. There are several muscles that cause the brows to elevate. Also, there are muscles that cause the brows to depress. There are also intricate muscles and muscles combinations that cause the eyebrows to have a multitude of other expressions. Since there are specific muscles that cause muscle elevation, they can easily be targeted by Botox. By targeting and paralyzing the muscle that elevate the eyebrows, Botox can cause eyebrow depression. Please be careful with your selected provider. You should consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive Botox experience. Often, eyebrow depression is an unwanted side effect of Botox injection in the forehead. What happens is that Botox is accidentally injected too low on the forehead and causes brow ptosis or depression of the eyebrow. Again, this is usually an unwanted effect. The frontalis muscle is responsible for lifting the brows. A little Botox in that muscle will relax it enough that the brow would drop slightly. It will take an expert hand to do this well. Yes, you can use Botox to lower the eyebrow. A small amount (about 2-3 units) can be placed above the over-arched brow to create symmetry.
