Are 310 cc silicone implants too small for me?

Question

I just had a breast lift and implants in April. I was a size 36B and my surgeon did a lift and put in 310cc silicone implants. I'm 5'1 and 138 lbs, I'm thinking they are too small.Everyone keeps telling me they take time to settle. Will they look different in a few months?

Hopefully you had some input into the decision regarding implant size. It does take time for them to settle, but in doing so, breasts do not get bigger. You should follow up with your surgeon and follow their recommendations. In general for your height and weight, 310 cc is a very reasonable size.

Thanks so much for reaching out. I think 310 mL may be a good size for you. But what is more important is what you think. A big part of the preoperative consultation is not only to take measurements and decide which implants would fit appropriately on your body, but is to try to determine what your goals are and if they are within reach. If after six months you are unhappy with the size, speak with the plastic surgeon to determine what options there are.

310cc is a reasonable size for your body frame but it really depends on so many factors.  I would evaluate in 3-6 months and then have a discussion with your surgeon.Best Wishes,Nana Mizuguchi, MD

Jessie,The 310cc implants are an adequate sized implant for patients of your height and weight.  But that all depends on what sized you desired.  Generally speaking, the breasts do not get larger after the first month of settling.  Follow up with your surgeon with your concerns.Dr T

If you recently had surgery, then I would give it 4-6 months to settle. See where you are at that point, and if you want larger implants then at that point perhaps you can .

You are still early in the healing process after breast augmentation/lift. As the implants soften, settle and drop the breast shape will change. It can take 4-6 months before the implants look and feel like they belong to you. Be sure to keep any scheduled follow up appointments you have for his or her evaluation and advice . Good luck!
