BA and lift 3 weeks ago, now a dead right arm. Is this normal?

I had ba and lift 3 weeks ago healing great and happy but I have pain down my right arm that seems to be a dull ache ..dead arm feeling. Should I be concerned or could this be due to me picking my little boy up over the last few days. I have been changing sides when picking him up .I have been doing so as I feel no pain when doing so and feel back to normal ☺️ I also have noticed today a small dark purple bruise to the right of my left breast no pain with this but just concerned.

Sensory issues postop usually resolve but can take a number of months. If this isn't resolving I would see your PS.

Thanks for your question,I am glad to hear that you are happy following your BA procedure although it is unfortunate that you are experiencing a dull ache down your right arm.It is possible to experience feelings of numbness or dull aching especially if your implants have been placed under the muscle and it is on your dominant side. This should fade over time, however if it is concerning you or you feel it is not showing signs of fading then definitely contact your surgeon for a check up. Wishing you all the best with your recovery

Thanks for your question. Numbness/tingling of the upper arm can definitely be seen with any type of breast surgery. There are sensory nerves that are often disturbed during surgery, plus if you arms were out on the operating room table, that can put stretch on the nerves as well. This almost always resolves. Massage and stretching may help. I would keep up w/ your surgeon regarding this issue. Best wishes.
