Question

I had a breast lift and implants done Feb 2013. My implants never dropped. I’ve scarred badly with keloids & been going through a depression and have gained over 100 pounds since this horribly botched surgery and my implants give me more and more pain daily. Lately, I feel like my implants have actually rose further up and give me so much nerve pain that sometimes it hurts to lift/move my arms. Being too overweight for surgery, is there anything else I can do to fix this?

Thank you for your pictures and questions. Sorry to hear you have had such problems. This is an unfortunate outcome. I would suggest you return to your plastic surgeon for an evaluation and discussion of your options. I suspect that you have developed capsular contracture. With as many problems as you have had, you may want to consider removal of the implants and revision of the scars with nothing else. There are several options for you but none without risk.Hope this helps!

You would likely need a capsulotomy (which releases the implants more inferiorly), and revision lift with revision of the scars as the main goal. Your tissues seem very thin (appearance of the veins), and great care needs to be taken to prevent a disasterous complication, ie skin loss/nipple loss/open wounds, infection/etc.

You might need a revision surgery in order to get the best results. It is best that you visit a board certified plastic surgeon for further assessment. but at this point, with your weight gain and funky look, if you were in my office, I would be suggesting that you consider deflating (if yours is saline) or the implants removed and allow yourself to return to your natural state.  Focus on managing your depression and overeating and when under control, consider having revisions then.
