Within the past 6-8 months a hard bump has formed underneath my skin on the bridge of my nose. I can't recall if it's been there for longer and it's just became noticeable as of lately. I went to my primary care doctor that told me I have a deviated septum. Could this bump just be a bone spur? Is there something else it could possibly be? I don't experience any sleep problems, breathing problems, headaches, or nose bleeds. Just the occasional pain near the bump when I wear eyeglasses.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question.I have tried to evaluate your case from the photo and informations you provided but I would need more photos taken a little more away from front and side. Anyway, from the only photo you provided I cannot make an appropriate evaluation. It looks like there is a white point where it can be due to a bone but it can also be something else (due to the photo's quality). I would be happy to check again your case if you can provide more information and photos.Best regards!

Answer: Contour irregularity nasal bridge Thank you for your question and sharing your photograph. The small prominence on the edge of the nasal bridge is situated around the area where bone and cartilage are joined. It could be a fragment of bone or a fragment of cartilage that produces the problem. Cartilage irregularities are sometimes compressible so when you feel the area if the bump feels very rigid it it may be bone. In general, bony irregularities are more likely to produce pain when wearing glasses than cartilage irregularities but it is not 100% diagnostic. I suggest that you discuss this concern with your surgeon for the possibility of either rasping the area or shaving down possible cartilage excess.
