Hello. I had an open rhinoplasty in 2019, then a minon revision (was awake for this, just a small touch up) in early 2021. The tip of my nose always seems to be a bit red. Should this be a cause for concern? The main things I’m worried about are things like tissue death, necrosis, infection etc but I’m not sure if those things are even possible years later. Is there a treatment for this?

Answer: Rhinoplasty The first thing to find out is whether you have a cartilage graft in your tip. This is commonly done and could explain what you see.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello ! It is not uncommon for the tip of the nose to remain slightly red after rhinoplasty surgery, especially if it was an open rhinoplasty procedure. This can be due to increased blood flow to the area during the healing process. If you have concerns about the redness, it's best to schedule an appointment with your surgeon to have the area examined. They can determine whether the redness is a normal part of the healing process or if it requires further evaluation. Although tissue death, necrosis, and infection are possible complications of rhinoplasty surgery, they are typically rare and more likely to occur in the immediate postoperative period. However, if you experience any unusual symptoms such as persistent pain, swelling, or discharge from the nose, it's important to seek medical attention immediately. If the redness is determined to be a concern, there may be treatments available to help reduce it. Your surgeon may recommend topical creams or other medications to help improve the appearance of the area. Again, it's important to consult with your surgeon for personalized advice and treatment recommendations. I hope this helps, best of luck !
