I had a .5 syringe of Kysse lip filler almost 6 months ago. That was the second treatment I’ve had since having my lips dissolved and redone. The first time I had them done after having my lips dissolved was in October, 2022. My lips are still extremely lumpy. I’m just really self conscious about them and wondering if this is normal? I don’t want to put anymore filler in them to “fix” them as they are already a little to big for me.
Answer: Lumpiness after filler I'm sorry you're feeling self-conscious about the lumps—it's understandable, especially since you've been through several treatments and dissolutions. Here are a few things to consider regarding the lumps and possible next steps: 1. Filler Integration Time: After 6 months, the filler should have fully integrated with your tissue, so persistent lumps are not typical at this stage. Sometimes lumps can occur if the filler was not properly distributed or if it settled unevenly. 2. Scar Tissue or Residual Filler: It’s possible that there may be residual filler or even scar tissue left from previous treatments, especially after having filler dissolved multiple times. This could be contributing to the lumpy texture you're experiencing. 3. Options to Address the Lumps: Gentle Massage: Sometimes, gentle massaging of the area can help smooth out any remaining small lumps, but only do this if recommended by your injector. Dissolving: If you're not interested in adding more filler and want to address the lumps, you could consider using a small amount of hyaluronidase to dissolve the uneven areas. An experienced injector can target specific areas to avoid over-dissolving and maintain your desired lip size. Microneedling or Laser: If scar tissue is the issue, treatments like microneedling or lasers may help smooth the texture without adding volume. 4. Consult with an Experienced Injector: It might be worth getting a second opinion or revisiting your injector to discuss your concerns. A skilled practitioner can evaluate whether there’s still filler present or if another treatment might be necessary to achieve a smoother look.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Hyaluronidase might be right for you! If you don't like your filler results, and you feel like you still have lumps you might be suitable for hyaluronidase to help dissolve that unwanted filler. When getting procedures like lip fillers done, it´s crucial for you to know your injector and establish a good communication with them. Only that way you will make yourself sure that your injector does get what you are looking for.

Answer: Reverse Lumps with Hylenex Hello kjh20! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. Filler migration and permanence is a common concern. Use of cohesive fillers on thin skin may cause swelling and nodularity. Generally, when patients present with lumps and nodularity, it is best to use Hylenex in order to dissolve the filler. If the filler does not dissolve, it means that the original filler injected is not based with hyaluronic acid material or that we need more enzyme to dissolve the filler. The hyaluronic acid reversal can be combined with other laser and skin treatments simultaneously. I hope this helps and best of luck!
