Hello I am writing desperate for help! I suffer from excessive sweating in the groin and butt areas. I am 24 years old and can't imagine having to live life this way forever. This condition is very embarrassing and depressing. Topical antiperspirant didn't help any and botox is not an option due to cost and the need to be constantly repeated. I have heard a lot about off label use of miradry but still can not find a doctor to help me. Please help... Any permanent option..

Thank you for your question.  MiraDry is currently the only noninvasive, FDA-cleared treatment for underarm sweat.  Until further research and safety tests are done on other areas of the body, you may wish to reevaluate if Botox treatments can help you with excessive sweating in the groin area.  Good luck, Dr. Aldo :-)

Thank you for your question. miraDry is only FDA approved for axillary sweating and you will unlikely find a provider that deviates from this until more safety data arises.   Botox is an effective treatment for your concerns.

Botox can be a good alternative while miradry is being approved for use in those areas.  Botox prevents the nerves from telling the sweat glands to produce sweat and odor.  Hope that helps!

addendum to this answer (april 2, 2017) - In the last 6 months, I have been performing miraDry for the groin and it works quite well. We are the first center in the U.S. performing miraDry for the groin and buttocks.

Unfortunately, Miradry is not an option yet in areas off label such as the groin and buttocks. I know that Botox or Dysport seems like an expensive option but typically the effect on sweat is for 6-12 months and it is very effective.
