Long story short; I was told I needed 2 crowns. After placement of the crowns, I noticed irritation in between the crown and the adjacent tooth. Something is very sore when poked and it may also bleed. My dentist adjusted the crown saying that there was a little piece that wasn't flush. However 3 years later, the area between my real tooth and crowned tooth is not normal. It will bleed if poked at the right angle with a proxabrush. Should this crown be redone?

Sorry to hear that. the reason for dark spot of metal showing is due to the adjustment your dentist needed to make your bite right! The lab or the ceramist either put a thick metal so there was not enough room for porcelain in that spot, or your dentist missed to prepare your tooth on that spot...
Thanks for asking the question. Well, dear without seeing the condition of your mouth it is difficult to give you right suggestion but still as per your description you have pain due to gum disease because feeling any discomfort or sensitivity after a crown is not normal. So you should visit...
You might want to see your dentist to recheck your crown and gums. It sounds like your crown might be putting too much pressure on your gums. Good luck.
