Gum Pain From Temporary Crown?

I'm not sure if this is normal. This is my first time getting a crown. it's been four days and my gum is still painful. I looked at it with a dental mirror, and just underneath the Cement, my gum is really red. It hurts even worse when I brush it and it bleeds. So i'm wondering if this will go away or because of my gingivitis it's making it worse then it should be?

Hi:Good question.  Normally there is some soreness and inflammation of the gum related to temporary crown.  It's best to rinse your mouth with warm salt water and share your concern with your dentist.Best,Dr. Maddahi

Thanks for asking the question. Well, dear without seeing the condition of your mouth it is difficult to give you right suggestion but still as per your description you have pain due to gum disease because feeling any discomfort or sensitivity after a crown is not normal. So you should visit your dentist before things get worse.
