Pain in the gum after implant crown put on?

I have a implant crown removed and fit a new one on, o the implant is fine, but after dentist fit the new crown on, around the joint on the gum line, it is so sore after 24 hours, is it normal?

Hi:Normally due to the expansion around the gum with the new crown you may feel soreness up to 24-48 hours.  If it continues its best to contact your dentist right away.Best,Dr. Maddahi

You might want to see your dentist to recheck your crown and gums. It sounds like your crown might be putting too much pressure on your gums. Good luck.

Please contact your restorative doctor to have your new crown and the gum around it evaluated. Ordinarily the x-rays should be taken upon the crown fitting to ensure proper contouring and presence of any extra cement. Normally any discomfort after a new crown fitting should be gone within a couple of hours the most. Good luck, Dr. Daniyar

The gums maybe a little sore after insert if the crown if it really pushes the gums away from their pre-existing location.  If this is the problem it should improve within a few days.  If the discomfort persists I would return to your dentist for check.  There could be excess cement irritating the gums that needs removal.
