Had a BBL a little over a year ago. Have a hard painful spot that sticks out. What should I do? (photo)

Thank you for the question and photo. It is difficult to answer your question without examining you however from reviewing your photo and your description it is not unusual to have fat necrosis post BBL. Draining it will help and may require multiple drainages. It is best to have a close follow up with your board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.

 Everyone develops fat necrosis to some degree after fat transfer procedures.  Sometimes it's enough that a liquid fat collection forms. It sounds like your doctor is doing the right thing by draining out. This should help resolve this.  If you had a fluid space for over one year and then it's possible the space will fill up with fluid despite being drained. I'm surprised it took over a year to get this resolved for you.  Continue following up with your provider. No surgical procedure is without risk regardless how much someone pays or how talented the provider is.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
