If there have been no complications 4 weeks after your BBL and providing you are a healthy person, the fat cells should have settled, and scuba diving should be safe.
Dear Good4479,I understand your concern. I wouldn't recommend my patients to go scuba diving 4 weeks after surgery. But, it is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your questions. I would discuss this with your surgeon, but for my patients, I do not allow submersion of the incisions under water for at least 6 weeks and this is with completely normal healing.Hope this helps!Dallas R. No pools or the like should be entered until wound healing is complete, which will take at least 6 weeks. The last thing you want is an infection following this procedures. The PS who performs your lipo and BBL will provide the most accurate response.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I recommend my patients to wait at least 6 weeks before resuming any water related sports, to avoid risk of infection. If you have any concerns, I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon.Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
Fat tansfer to the buttocks results in viable fat cells and near complete take. Going under pressure at one month will not affect your fat cell viability. the most important factor in determining the success of your buttocks grafting is whether you have VASER liposuction or not. Please consider a virtual consultation with a VASER specialist to learn more.
I don't believe the water pressure would kill fat cells. If that was the case then this could be an alternative to liposuction. I suppose you're referring to transferred fat and avoiding pressure for fat transfer survival. Typically it's point pressure or in reality movement that is particularly bad for grafted tissue. Buy one month any fat so that it's not have a blood supply is long dead. In my opinion it would be difficult to create any changes at one month but other providers have more strict protocols. As well, I am far more liberal about submersion in the water after surgery. I don't believe that most sources of water except perhaps swimming in very dirty water causes exposure to more bacteria than daily living. The incisions are typically healed and scabbed over within a week after the procedure. I don't have any particular limitations to exposure to water after any surgical procedures and have never in my career witnessed someone return with an infection because of water exposure. Different doctors different opinions. So check with your provider. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
Hi and welcome to our forum! The fat grafts placed two years ago are now part of you and will not undergo changes or damage due to body position. 30-50% of the graft may resorb after placement within the first month or so, but any later volume reduction is unlikely...UNLESS you lose weight....
Piercings do not have to be removed with a BBL as long as the surgeon does not use the cautery machine. Please contact a BBL specialist to help you optimize your results following a BBL. There are definite preparatory procedures that you can take to help you optimize your results.
Dear ButOfCourse, I understand your concern. It is not uncommon to feel some pain or discomfort at this stage of recovery process. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment....
